Festival Diaries: Wild Wild Fest

Here we are at the last day of my Coachella lookbook series! For my final outfit, I was inspired by the western outlaws and rock n roll era. Totally badass and ready for a ridiculously fun time! Rocking that “vintage-but-glam” look with lots of studs and rhinestone embellishments. All you need to add is your trusty big hat and cowboy boots, and you’re set to boogie those desert nights away.

Festival Diaries: The Gypsy Warrior

Another day, another outfit from my Coachella Lookbook! For my second outfit, I was inspired by bohemian travelers and ethereal beings. Channeling my inner gypsy with lots of fabric and slit action. Flower crowns are so out, and crystal tiaras are so IN.  I added statement pieces with gorgeous stones and chunky chains to complete the look. This outfit is for the free-spirited, the wanderer, taking a nomadic journey at the stages of Coachella.

Stay tuned for my last outfit and lookbook video tomorrow! x

Festival Diaries: For Love & Festivals

Now that Spring is officially here, let the festival season commence! Coachella is just around the corner and I’m excited to be attending again this year. With that being said, I’ll be showcasing my Coachella Lookbook in the next few days, and launching a video at the end of the series (click here to go to my channel and subscribe).

Having attended Coachella for the past two years, I know how hard it is to find THE perfect outfit for all three days of the festival. So I'm hoping that this series will inspire you to find yours. I started the hunt early this year and had the opportunity to collaborate with some of my favorite brands!

For my first outfit, I was inspired by beach getaways and poolside parties. Indio gets extremely hot this time of year so I wanted an outfit that will keep me calm, cool, and collected. What better way than to wear a crochet cover-up that's designed to flatter your body in all the right places? Just look at the gorgeous pattern and detailing! Wear your favorite swimsuit underneath and you're ready to roam the grounds of Coachella.

Stay tuned for more x

White Silhouettes

Spring is officially here!

Welcoming the new season in white flowy silhouettes, which will be evident in my wardrobe. I love how it instantly gives off a fresh look on those warm, sunny days.

I wanted to showcase the bottoms that I’m wearing because I love how it looks like a skirt, but are actually shorts underneath. Having two elements in one makes it so easy to wear, and also adds a playful touch to the outfit.

NYFW: Lafayette 148

Happy Monday, loves!

This last NYFW I had the chance to collaborate with Lafayette 148 New York, a contemporary woman’s line that redefines power-dressing with its exceptional style, fit and quality. They offer a wide range of styles for the sophisticated, cosmopolitan woman.

I chose a staple piece like this long blazer—the structure and padding on the shoulders gives it a strong look, perfect for business meetings and professional settings.

I paired it with a white button down shirt, a piece that’s versatile all-year-round. You can layer it with a long trench or slouchy cardigan on those chilly days, or wear it by itself on those warmer days.

Humpday Hues

On Wednesdays, we wear camel.

Happy Humpday ya’ll! I’m a happy camper due to a very productive Wednesday. I got some errands out of the way and I was even able to pamper myself a bit, which I feel is rare nowadays because I’m always so caught up with work and events. It feels weird, but really nice to have a day like today once in a while! Anyways, I’ve been really digging camel hues lately—it’s so chic and a great Spring color. I also love how this dress can act like as a coat as well. You can wear it by itself when you need to quickly throw something on, or you can layer it up for something more fun.

Speaking of “hump” day, I’m about to head to the gym and work on my bikini bod. How’s your Humpday coming along?

Spring Forward

Winter's coming to an end so I started some Spring cleaning all of last night to get my closet ready for the season. I still have a lot to do but I already feel like a weight has lifted off my shoulders, or should I say in this case, a pile of clothes finally out of sight.

I’m working on selecting a few staple pieces for my Spring wardrobe and this NBD bodysuit definitely made the cut—it was love at first sight! I love the corset detail with boning on all sides, and gold rings to lace it all up. I dressed it down with my favorite pair of denim cut-offs, but you can easily dress it up with your midi skirt or trousers.

I’ll share with you more of my staple pieces soon! In the meantime, you can shop similar styles to match the bodysuit below :)

Yin + Yang

It’s all about finding your balance.

I learned that in Chinese philosophy and religion, yin and yang are two principles: yin is negative, dark, and feminine, while yang is positive, bright, and masculine. Two halves that form a whole, a concept that resonates in my style.

I find my balance when it comes to my wardrobe—mixing opposites like edgy with boho, black with white, and statement with minimal pieces. Just like relationships, opposites attract and it keeps it interesting, don’t you think?

BB Dakota’s Tank Dress came in just in time for the warm weather we’re currently having in LA—it’s definitely starting to feel like Spring! It’s light, airy and feminine, so naturally, I wanted to add toughness by adding my cropped moto.

Babes That Brunch

Hats + dresses means I'm back in LA!

I’ve had but a week to recoup and catch up on work after all the NYFW madness, and still have more to do—but I promise to update you on my travels soon!

With that said, I want to share with you my brunch attire from a couple weeks ago. Dressing for brunch usually means going for a casual yet chic ensemble. And to keep it fun, I stayed away from black and went with some color—camel!

I just love how this coat can be both worn as an outerwear and a dress. It was a sunny yet chilly day in LA so I went for layers and silver accents, and my wide-brim hat to match and complete the look!

This one’s more daring: deep-v cuts, side cutouts, and high slits! Channeling the old hollywood gal in me – a glamorous look for a romantic night out. I can imagine myself in this outfit at a nice dinner, eating a juicy steak and drinking a rosé.

I’m really feeling this SoCal weather right now. Coming back from the freezing temperatures in Chicago, it almost feels like Spring back home. Hence, I bust out my denim overalls from Dolly Girl Fashion pretending that it’s springtime. This cute little number looks like it came straight from the 80’s! I do love vintage-style pieces, and I really like how this one flatters my petite figure. You can catch me repeating this outfit at a festival!

The Heartbreaker

Ready to break hearts with this Valentine's Day look.

Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to dress up and do something fun. Whether you’re going on a romantic date or a girls’ night out, a LBD is always appropriate. This year I’m going for rebel chic: my trusty cropped moto, cut-out bodycon dress and pointy-toe heels to create the look.

image.jpg
image.jpg

Talking about Valentine's Day, my ideal date would be to get out of town—to go to a city I’ve never been to. I live for exploring new places and trying new things! Then later, ending the night with a nice dinner—food is definitely the way to my heart. ;)

This year, I celebrated Valentine’s Day a little early for the reason that I’ll be out of town, attending NYFW. I went to Chicago this past weekend with my boyfriend celebrating our anniversary and it was nothing sort of amazing. I will save the deets for the next blog post so stay tuned!

California Winters
image.jpg
image.jpg

It feels as if the winter season gets colder and colder in California every year. Nowadays, I can’t leave the house without a coat when in the past, all I needed was a light jacket. I’m not complaining though! I love being able to wear coats this season and layer my favorite pieces.

image.jpg
image.jpg

I’ve been on the search for a camel coat and I’m glad I found this one from Lioness. My wardrobe is very monochromatic at the moment so it’s nice to add some color for once! It’s the perfect color and the right structure for my petite body. I couldn’t let it go.

image.jpg
image.jpg

Even though it’s been colder lately, the weather is still unpredictable. Cold, hot, then cold again… That’s why I opted for cutoff shorts, so that when It gets hot, I can simply take off my jacket and put it back on when it gets cold again. Some summer pieces are still useful this time of year when you mix it with your winter staples!

I was having a Marilyn moment with this maxi and felt glamorous while staying casual. I dressed it up with over-the-knee suede boots and a gold braided choker. You can also dress it down with your favorite sandals or booties!

I love contrasting pieces—my black boots complemented the white dress really well.

Comfort + Function

My outfit of choice when I'm on the go.

Now that the holiday season is here, I’m running errands left and right. My endless list includes gift + grocery shopping, preparing for holiday parties and the like. So when I’m on the go, I like to stay comfortable and functional. Shopping involves a lot of bag carriage so having my Avenue Dee fanny pack makes my life easier for the fact that it’s always secure around my waist (instead of carrying it around). I also love wearing my Air Max Thea that I got from Zappos because it keeps me comfortable while running errands all day!

Fall is in session but we are slowly (but surely) transitioning into the winter season. Now that it's getting chillier in Los Angeles, I'm in the hunt for the perfect outerwear. I found this Karen Kane jacket and it's definitely a winner! Being a SoCal gal, I get cold easily. However, I simply throw this jacket on and I'm instantly toasty thanks to the faux-fur lining. It's faux-leather but feels amazingly comfy. This is my must-have piece for the season!

It feels like the fall season has barely hit (thanks to the LA weather), but I’m so excited for winter! Mostly because I can wear shaggy and faux fur coats—the more texture, the better! This shaggy little thing moves with you so it would be so fun to wear at parties, whether it’s for a friendsgiving or a holiday party. It’s a great way to upgrade your outfit to the top!

Olive You

Keeping myself warm with a cool vibe in this olive bomber jacket.

Bomber jackets are one of the biggest trends this season, of which both men and women are rocking! It leaves a fresh, sporty statement while adding a powerful silhouette to your look. Not to mention, the bomber jacket is so easy to wear. Simply throw it over a tee and skinnies and bam! Instant chic.

The colder weather gives me an excuse to add more masculine pieces into my wardrobe, and this olive bomber has to be one of my favorites as of late. For this outfit, I paired my bomber with a white cropped halter and black skinny high-waist pants. Naturally, I stuck with a monochromatic palette so that the olive color stands out.
