Pull It Together

I'm all tied-up.

I’ve spent more time indoors than outdoors for the past couple weeks. I think the heat is really getting to me lately. I’ve been keeping myself inspired while recharging my batteries, so expect more content coming your way! For this style post, I’m finally pulling myself together and showing you my go-to summer look. All you need is a good bodysuit and a cute pair of short-shorts to get you through this summer heat. This bodysuit is appropriate in so many ways, and anything lace-up is always a good idea.

This summer heat has got me wanting to wear more color!

The summertime calls for more feminine and flowy pieces. I rarely wear color, but I’m really digging the dusty mauve shade.  This Bare Anthology top is feminine but still has a little edge to it. The sleeves create a nice silhouette to elongate the arms, and I just love how it flows to every movement. I paired it with my favorite short-shorts to balance the proportions. The summer heat is here and I find myself wanting to wear nothing but my bodysuits and a good pair of jeans. What drew me to this bodysuit is the unusual cut on the chest area; it gives a tasteful reveal for the itty bitties. I also love the choker detail it has since I’m so obsessed with them right now. Felt so effortlessly badass with these raw-edged mom jeans, and added a great pair of minimal heels to finish off the look.

When I think of summer, I think of fun outdoor activities; whether it’s having a picnic at the park or biking by the beach. I particularly love having barbecues and going on a staycation! The list goes on, and that’s why my summer staple needs to be versatile no matter what the occasion.

I’m getting ready with XOXO this summer by rocking this LBD! I just love how it perfectly fits to accentuate my body, but also flares out to keep it fun. It’s a modern take on the day dress—your summer staple doesn’t necessarily have to be colorful. However, we’ll leave it up to the details; the ruffled sleeves and front cut-out to keep things interesting. The solid black color also makes it easy to switch it up by adding other key pieces. I added a wide brim hat to complete the look.

California Winters

It feels as if the winter season gets colder and colder in California every year. Nowadays, I can’t leave the house without a coat when in the past, all I needed was a light jacket. I’m not complaining though! I love being able to wear coats this season and layer my favorite pieces.

I’ve been on the search for a camel coat and I’m glad I found this one from Lioness. My wardrobe is very monochromatic at the moment so it’s nice to add some color for once! It’s the perfect color and the right structure for my petite body. I couldn’t let it go.

Even though it’s been colder lately, the weather is still unpredictable. Cold, hot, then cold again… That’s why I opted for cutoff shorts, so that when It gets hot, I can simply take off my jacket and put it back on when it gets cold again. Some summer pieces are still useful this time of year when you mix it with your winter staples!
