Coachella Survival Style Kit

Coachella is less than a week away *cue panic attack* and we need to plan those outfits ASAP! I had a hard time preparing my outfits for my first Coachella (2014) because I had no idea what to expect, however, preparation gets better every year. Planning outfits can be stressful, but planning ahead of time and having an idea of what you’re looking for is definitely KEY. I’m sharing a few tips below on getting the proper outfits ready this festival season!

Desert vibes in creamy whites.

Don’t let the heat get to you, literally. My advice? Wear light colors to keep a fresh vibe. Try to avoid dark colors like black if you get hot easily, as black objects absorb all wavelengths of light and coverts them into heat, which makes you even hotter. I love creamy colors like ivory, sand, and khaki as it reminds me of the desert!

Tell me about it, stud.

It can be uncomfortable to wear heaps of accessories at the festival when you get hot and sweaty. My tip? Wear pieces that’s already accessorized so you don’t need to wear jewelry and the like. I’d go for lots of studs, as it gives a very edgy, rocker vibe to your look. It is a music festival after all!

Gone with the wind

You’ll want to wear something that’s breezy while rampaging in the desert heat. My pick? A tulle/sheer skirt! I love how the wind blows through the fabric, and how it flows while you're dancing! I don’t know about you, but It makes me want to groove all day long.

All chained up.

We all struggle on finding the “perfect” outfit, so much that we end up not finding anything even at our favorite retail stores! My solution? Pick a favorite basic piece in your closet and look for fun accessories to spice it all up. Instead on focusing so much on finding the perfect outfit, find something in your closet that you already like—something that fits you well, and most importantly, something that’s comfortable for you. Adding cool accessories, just like this leather harness skirt, makes a totally new outfit!

Nün Bangkok Festival

Athleisure takes Coachella!

For this year’s Coachella, I got the opportunity to partner up with Nün Bangkok!

Nün Bangkok incorporates edgy elements with comfortable and light weight garments—redefining athleisure to a whole new level. Each collection represents the strong and stylish woman, without having to sacrifice comfort. Each design is unique, with great attention to detail.

The pieces were perfect for the festival, standing out from the more bohemian outfits that we see there!

Talking about the festival, here are a few of my favorite performances:

  • Gallant: He put his heart and soul to each song and it was such a pleasure watching him – with surprise guest Jhené Aiko to perform Skipping Stones.
  • Snakehips: It was my 4th time seeing them live and they never disappoint, they just get better and better every time! They brought out Tinashe as a surprise guest for the song All My Friends.
  • Ice Cube: Probably one of the most sought out artists for this year – he brought out The Game, Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar!
  • Flume: The first time I saw him live was two years ago at Coachella 2014, performing in one of the smaller stages, so I was really excited to see him again this year! He brought out Vince Staples and Kučka to perform Smoke & Retribution, Kai for Never Be Like You and Tove Lo for Say It to end his set.

Needless to say, it was a great Coachella overall, and I can't wait for next year!

Festival Diaries: Wild Wild Fest

Here we are at the last day of my Coachella lookbook series! For my final outfit, I was inspired by the western outlaws and rock n roll era. Totally badass and ready for a ridiculously fun time! Rocking that “vintage-but-glam” look with lots of studs and rhinestone embellishments. All you need to add is your trusty big hat and cowboy boots, and you’re set to boogie those desert nights away.

White Silhouettes

Spring is officially here!

Welcoming the new season in white flowy silhouettes, which will be evident in my wardrobe. I love how it instantly gives off a fresh look on those warm, sunny days.

I wanted to showcase the bottoms that I’m wearing because I love how it looks like a skirt, but are actually shorts underneath. Having two elements in one makes it so easy to wear, and also adds a playful touch to the outfit.
